How to compress a PDF without losing quality

Reduce a PDF from 20 MB to under 5 MB in seconds while keeping the document readable.

Heavy PDFs are usually heavy because of their images. The fastest way to compress a PDF is to lower the resolution and JPEG quality of those images while keeping the text legible. Our PDF compressor does exactly that, in your browser, without uploading anything to a server.

Open the PDF compressor, drop your file and choose a level: Low for documents you'll print, Medium for everyday sharing by email, and High when you really need the smallest possible file. The tool re-renders every page at a lower DPI and re-encodes the images, then rebuilds a new PDF that you can download with a custom filename.

Tip: if your PDF is already compressed and the result barely changes, the bottleneck is usually fonts or vector graphics — those can't be shrunk without losing fidelity. In that case it's often better to split the PDF and keep only the pages you actually need.

Merge and split PDF files like a pro

Combine receipts into a single report, or extract just chapter 3 from a long manual.

Merging is the easiest workflow: drop two or more PDFs into the Merge PDF tool, drag them into the right order and click Merge. The result is a single PDF you can rename before downloading — perfect for sending a complete report instead of five separate attachments.

Splitting works the other way: open the Split PDF tool, pick a file and type the ranges you want to extract, for example "1-3, 5, 8-10". You'll get a brand-new PDF with only those pages. Combine both tools to reorganize big documents — split first, then merge back in the order you want.

Why WebP makes your site faster (and how to convert)

WebP images are typically 25–35% smaller than JPG with the same visual quality.

If you're shipping a website, every kilobyte counts. WebP is a modern image format supported by every major browser and gives you a meaningful size reduction over JPG and PNG, which directly improves Largest Contentful Paint and your Lighthouse score.

Drop a JPG or PNG into the image converter, pick WebP as the output format, slide the quality to around 80% and download. For photography, 80% is visually indistinguishable from the original in almost every case. For UI screenshots with sharp text, push the slider closer to 90%.
